he had been teaching since 1952, he was popular and everyone's
role model. He had settled back from Scotland before the war
and spoke the language brilliantly. Teacher, Attila Szunyogh
remained. It took many years for the school to get back on its
feet, as there were already GMKs and they "marketed" well.
There was also a language school with foreign interests. But the
road is wide, I said, we can fit on it. In fact, I founded a new
language school, but for obvious reasons, the school
management had to focus on tradition later on. This entailed a
lot of pressure to change: everything I no longer agreed with
had to be changed, while the values had to be recognized and
carried forward. This is why the decision was made regarding
the books used in the school. We decided to introduce new
books from each taught language, but I decided to rewrite the
self-developed book series consisting of six booklets in English,
filtering out the useful and changing the obsolete vocabulary,
creating the introductory nature of the grammatical structure
            that I wanted to teach.
There were books that had to be completely discarded and new
ones written, but each book changed in structure, method and
content, even if at first glance this was not immediately visible
due to the remaining figures and images. Sometimes the
determination to transform or write one or another book, as well
as the form and content that suddenly became aware of it,
affected me with such an elemental force that I simply
disappeared from Balatonkenese, our holiday house, during
vacation and travelled to Budapest, alone in the empty
apartment, and wrote it all at once. At that time, we already had
a modern computer at the school, and I immediately folded the
material into a print-ready form. Since these are not books
printed in four colours due to expensive manufacturing reasons,
the appearance had to be made more interesting by editing,
design and layout of texts and placing pictures. Over time, I
rewrote the book series several times, as the language changed.
