leadership of the C-grade group, which specially trained
doctoral students, and entrusted him with its leadership. Class C
was a narrow group of the department's best students. It was a
pleasure to teach these students, but it required preparation and
even more preparation, because they learned practically
everything immediately, and they questioned everything
seriously and hard in class. I was happy with their questions,
but I only answered when they asked in English or when they
tried to formulate the question. I later wrote textbooks from the
materials processed for them. Three weeks after the start of the
semester, the boss caught me as I entered the Language Institute
and said:
- Don't speak! I have removed you from teaching the Russian
language with immediate effect, and you will receive your C-
section training again. Pay attention to the student sitting in the
first row, on the right. That's it! Hello.
Confused, but with great joy, I took back the opportunity to
teach the special English group, and the indicated student was
one of the best students of my life. Later, of course, I found out
that a newspaper article was published in Future Engineers, a
university paper, stating that the students do not see their
progress assured with their assigned teacher, and thus they
cannot get to their doctorates, they only talk in Hungarian in
class. At the time, nothing was more alarming than a newspaper
article appearing. They never interfered with my schedule
again. I didn't mind since I specialized so much in English.
